Help!!
I practice just about everyday. Now it seems as though I've hit a brick wall, or reached a spot where I cannot pass with my practicing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have been playing for 15 years and now it seems I can't better myself. I may not be practicing properly. Help? :? :(

Happens to everybody
First, let me congratulate you on making it 15 years before hitting the wall. I ran into that sucker long before then and I still bash into it on a regular basis. Lessons and playing with others is great advice. Anything that gets you out of your comfort zone will lead you down new paths. Try listening to music that you wouldn't ordinarily listen to. If you like country, listen to jazz; if you like rock, listen to blues etc. Another good way to recharge is to simply not pick up the instrument for a few weeks. You'll be chompin' at the bit.

Stop playing for a couple of weeks and listen to some type of music you might not normally listen to.
This will help reprogram your brain and get you out of that rut this works best for me. Listen to Benny Goodman or Pete Fountain some hot clairnet players. They play in the same register as guitar players you will pickup tons of new chops from those guys. |

Thanks!
Thanks, that helps alot. We are taking about 2 months off from gigging (spelling?) and I am about to loose it. You are correct about the comfort zone. Everyday I go into my music room and strap on my tele and practice. We have only made it through about 3 weeks of the 2 month break. We get together every weekend to practice but it's nothing like playing on stage! Thanks for the advice it was right on the money.
