Ibanez CP-9
I'm trying out an Ibanez CP-9 to replace the cheapo Danelectro compressor I've been using. Anyone tried one of these? What settings seem to work best for you?

To be honest
No settings worked for me on that pedal. I ended up throwing it across the stage during a gig. Best thing I ever did with that pedal. Wonder if it's still there?

huh...maybe that's the one that I got...
It seems to do the clean-boost thing ok and brings out the twang, but it's also really bright (the last thing I need). I need to fool around with it some more, I think.

CP9
I've had a few of the CP9 pedals, I like the CP9 as much as the Boss CS2 , better than the Boss CS3 and MXR Dynacomp.
Settings - just play around with it, depends on what you're looking for, you can get a good clean boost , or crank it up more sustain. Mostly I like compression for playing clean at low to moderate volumes, but for Blues , R&R , I don't use it much at all and especially at volume when playing live with tube amps it doesn't work for me. The Dano compressor is a MXR clone, I had one and thought it was a decent unit. |
