wow.... that is the ugliest thing I ever saw. And the guitar's pretty ugly too.

I'd be very curious to know if there are weird dead spots on the neck with such a huge headstock... there has to be different notes or stuff going on with that.

If they made a 12 string out of a tele I would be one of the first in line to buy one. My next guitar will most likely be an electric 12 string, and if it could be a tele that would be great.

That headstock is screaming for 6 more pegs!

...that's just plain unnatural! :evil: Is that page rated? Don't they know that kids can get at look at that monster. It's absolutely horrible! But, then again: different strokes for different folks (as Sly used to say). And on the other hand: the rest of the guitar is really nice! :)

It's not that bad. Keep in mind that it's all about image. I read in GuitarPlayer a year or two ago that John 5 (the guitarist in mention) was at one point the studio guitarist for KD Lang, and as nutty as he looks in his "Scary" get-up, it's just an image.

As far as the guitar, so what?, it's got a huge 12 string style headstock. I think that we've all seen worse guitars (heck, I'm sure some of us OWN worse looking guitars)

Hey, I entered the giveaway, I don't care, I'd still play it.

I think that the headstock is so large so that John5 can reach over and goose Marilyn between songs without having to worry about going out of tune.

I would give it a try, the headstock is pretty lame, but I wouldn't mind checking out the Bigsby/pups. What I don't get is why a 'John 5' model now? I thought the Marilyn Manson 'thing' was pretty much over a while ago.

Somehow I don't understand all the hubbub about this telecaster, even antiguq burst doesn't ruffle feathers this much and that is the only guitar paint job that actually makes me ill.

What's the big deal? It's got a 12-string headstock instead of the normal tele deal. I give the guy a lot of credit for fitting a classically-styled guitar into the goth look. I think the Fender 12-string headstock lacks imagination, but ugly? That dripping hockey-stick thing on the maverick that fuzzy posted is ugly.

Other than the headstock, what's wrong with it? A black double-bound tele with a bigsby, I don't see anything wrong with that!

I'm no Manson fan, but I agree. You'd think he'd play a BC Rich or something, but he plays a Tele. He's probably inspired some goth kids to not look at the Tele as an old person guitar.

All it would take is a new neck with the correct headstock to turn that into a nice guitar.
I have to agree, while I personally can't stand Maralyn Manson (or however it's spelt) lots of kids do like him, and this may help Fender sell guitars, a bit like the Tom Delonge form Blink 182 gimmick guitar

I am a MM fan. I'm not gonna comment any further about it or quailfy it.

It is really just the 12 string neck on a bigsby equipped tele. The neck looks silly, but I've seen much worse on this site.

I can't help but thinking that you guys are maybe a little biased, given the whole Goth look thing.

Frankly he normally plays a 12string so I don't get the whole six string neck thing.

Geez I wonder what people thought of Johnny Cash when he wore all black. In a certain these guys are a logical extension of that. Bad guys in black thing that is.

Personally I a way more offended by the personal style of Parrot heads.

This is a real photo of him, not a mockup. Apparently he has as many guitars as Fuzzy, not all Teles, but at least some. Like this one...

Also, I think I heard that when he landed the gig with KD Lang, half the guitarists in America was auditioning. (One article said 2000!) So he must be a fairly good player.

Anyway, as people have pointed out, Manson is just an act. And if he asks his fellow "actors" to dress and make up funny, and pays them loads of money to do so, it doesn't make them any worse musicians...
