The ID in the neck pocket : anyone heard of fender doing THAT ??

I saw that when it was first listed.
IMO the selller is plain wrong. No, I don't think a company that has been making notes on their guitar bodies in pencil, ink, and stamped impression for 55 years would do that. Nor do I believe that there would not be a paint stick shadow in the neck pocket, custom made for someone or not. |

It’s easy to copy genuine looking Fender workman’s marks (I’ll die laughing if I see one more TG signature), but on that purple Tele it just looks crazy & crude. Personally I wouldn’t believe any initials or names on any vintage Tele (unless there was proper independent documentary evidence)
