Anyone heard these Roy Buchanan Albums?

Early Years
Malaguena
Secret Love

Anyone have these or heard them before?
Are they worth getting?

Thanks!

Early Years

I have that one on the "Krazy Kat" label.

Good, but I prefer the Polydor issues.

"Early Years" is worth getting. It is Roy during his years long before Polydor, when rock and roll was still young. The first recording of After Hours is on it, as well as Potato Peeler, which is the first time he hit a squealing harmonic on record. (Apparently, it was an accident.)

early years...

is the best comprehensive compilation of his early recordings... although the dale hawkins, jerry hawkins, bob luman, the brothers, jerry ross and other rockabilly 45s are missing... this and the rockabilly stuff is my favorite buchanan... the solo on ruby baby is mindblowing... tj

where can you get the real early stuff you mentioned

Where or what CD has the early stuff with the rockabilly and stuff you mentioned was not on the compilation? I would love to hear that stuff....

I have the first two but am not familiar with "Secret Love", except that Roy did that song his 1980 album "My Babe".

Most of my "Early Years" CD is interesting older material. Favorite cuts are "The Jam" and "Potato Peeler". "Mule Train Stomp" sounds like it has some Duane Eddy influence.

The material used on "Malaguena" ranges from pretty good to non-essential. The one cut I love is "Rambunctious".
