200 for a CVC? I'm sure you can find out whether that's out of line for a used CVC if you search the forum... I don't know offhand. Those guitars have a good reputation, though, and unless it plays like a dog it should make for a fantastic backup tele. You could do way worse for $200 to have a backup... and if the Squier on the headstock bothers you, just keep an eye out for a replacement neck on the cheap with the F word on it.
Mmm, if Fender made a MIM tele that came with binding and an ashtray bridge? I'd prolly git one, them bodies is purty dressed up like that.

I have one I bought new for $327. These are great guitars. Not sure why anyone would call it a "beater" guitar. Very nice guitar. Not sure about the price, but I think $200 would be a fair price if it's in good shape.

I'd say that is a pretty good deal. Especially considering how good they are and how much they usually cost. CVs are the top of the line Squiers, and a very very good bang for the buck.

If you wait around, someone else will pay the $ 200, maybe more. Despite the low retail cost, these have a solid "base" value and can't be too hard to sell, in most markets. Course, I can't have it because it is on my "Prohibited Source" list. |

OP, if you can get it for less then it's a bargain but $250 is still a fair price if it's in top condition.

At one point I had a 3 teles, an American standard, a MIJ, and a my 80's JV Squire. Sold the US one (the least nice of the 3) a year or so later swapped the MIJ for beautiful Casino. I'll never part with the squire through. Maybe I'm lucky but it's the best playing tele I've ever owned. It's amazing how marketing and prejudice makes people blind to quality.
