Anybody else at the Philly Guitar Show this weekend?
I went this afternoon and was more disappointed than ever. Nothing really interesting at all to me. Didn't even see anybody I knew.

Philly Guitar Show
I went to the show.
Picked up a nice tele;62 Reissue with retrofitted electronics. Thought there would be more talent there, although I heard Rick Vito played after I left; around 4. Cool to see so many pieces in one place. Jack

Went on Sunday
I spent about 4 hours there on Sunday. Always wish I had more time. I haven't been to a show in a few (10?) years, and I was kind of in awe when I first walked in and saw those acres of guitar necks sticking up . . .
you kind of glaze over and it takes a little while for that to wear off so you can concentrate on what you are seeing. Some of the prices were just nutty.

Spent all day Saturday there with a bunch of "the usual suspects".
The show seemed pretty well attended, and cash seemed to be changing hands. There was one guy with a booth that had seven 60's firebirds, all in custom colors. Now, THAT'S not something you see every day! The Kelly green reverse 'bird-V was a cool 45K. A spectacular Martin 1938 L-4 archtop could be yours for 10,500. Rare piece. Couple of bursts....one for 150, the other for 125. Shall we pool our lunch money? I had a great time, but probablly more because of the big gang of knuckleheads I went & hung with rather than the show it'self. I attend all of the philly shows and I give this one a B- mn |
