Recommend an inexpensive Tele w/ a rosewood fretboard

Tele or T-style... What's you favourite with a rosewood 'board? Or put it this way: should I get a CVC, or is there another one you'd recommend instead?

I think the Xaviers have better hardware and electronics, but if my experience is exemplary, they need their fret ends filed. Of course for less than the difference in price between an Xavier and a Squier, you can buy the file from Stew mac and do it in about 20 minutes.

I'd go with the CVC. Or a Squier Standard.

I know, I know... same sentence is blasphemy, etc. Grab your torch and pitchfork!

Don't know if you'd call it inexpensive, but it's half the price of an AVRI ...

My MIM 60's Classic with an aftermarket all-white pickguard:

To me it's funny that a Doctor of Teleocity would need our advice...

I like the Classic series '72 Telecaster Custom or Classic '60s Telecaster.

The modern series don't come with rosewood, but I would get one because the price is so good. The CV Squier has a thicker neck than the CVC Squier, so the CV wins in my estimation.

This would work for me You might prefer a different radius and/or frets?

The first thing I would look for is a used MIM Deluxe Nashville Tele, one with a rosewood board.

I'd guess roughly one in three have rosewood boards, and normally these can be found fairly inexpensively, used. Looks like this:

I have or have had 9 necks from the Squier Standard and they're a little thin. The Squier CVC necks are way thin, almost scary will this hold together thin.

Check into Craigslist and find you a Squier Standard Tele with rosewood.

Yes, the day you feel there's nothing more to learn, take up goat roping. It's a real eye opener!

I will throw in my vote for the Squier standard. Really nice out of the box and will go toe to toe with more expensive gits after a few cheap upgrades.

They are, but they're pretty hard to find.

Here's an FSR version, which I like a lot:

Define inexpensive as it relates to you BigDaddy. I love my CVC but if you want something with a heftier neck maybe a 60's Classic would be a better way to go. At either of those price points I would say those are two of the top stars in the Fender stable.
