Someone slap me I think I'm buying too many telecasters
I already have a spectacular 80s MIJ fernandes tele, but in the past week I've bought an american deluxe tele, another fernandes, a mij/mim parts tele, and a CIJ 52 reissue. I also somehow know in advance i just need to change the pickups so I got some mares, fender original vintage, and some handwound pickups from a fairly unknown ebay winder.
I don't want to keep more than two at maximum so I'll have to figure out how to give up two of them. |

lol I think I am getting the Tele BUG as well, I have 3 LP's, 2 SG's, 1 ES 335, 1 EPI hollowbody Swingster, 5 Strats, 3 Tele's soon to become more in numbers. Out of my 3 Tele's, without a shadow of doubt the 50's Roadworn is the most Versatile :)

That shot is from my girlfriend's Cabin in North Carolina, where I also keep a couple guitars. Unfortunately I have in storage a lot of guitars here and there and you can't get at them when you do that. But you are right, it always feels like a Vacation up there in the Appalachians. |

What is it about guitars that makes us want to own a ton of them? I bought 6 in the past 12 months. But I feel the same way about watches, so it must be a sickness that goes beyond the guitar

Although I believe you can never have too many Teles, maybe this book would be useful?

Nice grouping of Teles, though, and a great looking dog! You're very lucky.

Not only do you never need fret work, if that's a small portion of your goods, you probably don't ever need to change strings. I could go about three months on a guitar before I am itching to change out strings. That small portion you have there would go two years for me to cycle through them all with swapped out sets of strings. On my #2 guitar I don't touch much, the strings stay pretty fresh and playable for six months. I go somewhere over a year before I break a string, so that collection would represent a decade before I break at least one string on each guitar. When my friend had a music store, he had so many extra sets lying around that each time he played, he put on a fresh set whether the guitar needed them or not. It was so slow at times it was a way to help make the time pass by. |

I would be happier human being if did not have occasional GAS. I have one perfect (for me) tele. That is enough -- I just don't NEED more guitars, period.
I try to remind me this while drooling for teles online. |
