American Ash Tele

I got my first Tele on Saturday and I have to say I am blown away by this guitar.I have been playing a Strat and Les Paul for years and I was always like 'yeah well I'll try a Tele one day but they sure are ugly'.I got the honey blonde black plate ash tele with maple fretboard I only played rosewood before and this neck is smooth fast and I love the u shape I have small hands and it fitted perfectly it is light balanced and the sound is bright snappy but smooth .The ash shows through just right. I can't put it down the skin is falling off my fingers but I dont care I can't stop looking at it either I just can't say enough about this guitar I tried American series Teles, Thin line teles and they just didn't come close I am totally converted .Try one if you can.

Welcome to the fold brother. Now you know what the hype is all about. Once you've finally found the right tele, you'll have a hard time making time to play anything else!

Welcome Home !

Congratulations !
;-)
what took ya so long ?
;-)

there's lots of techniques available to you with a Tele that other guitars can't/don't handle as well, ie; behind the nut bends, tone pot wah-wah etc....
there's a whole world of tone with just the bridge Pup and the controls....one of my personal faves is bridge Pup, tone rolled way down, while lightly strumming chords over the end of the neck....there's an "airy" quality, (depending on your amp settings of course)

Enjoy !

Don't you feel better now that you're cured of this? :-)

Hey Dennis happy to hear you found your honey. The ash American Series and the ash American 52-modern are really nice guitars. You have the 52-modern which I feel was brilliant for Fender to produce. It mixes the best features of both the a 52 Reissue and the American Standard with a ash body. Would love to see your guitar offered also in a white blonde or 3-tone sunburst.

Well I too have the American ash in honey blond finish but I have the white pickguard on mine. I too never liked maple fretboards but after having this guitar I will never go back to rosewood for telecasters. I however never want to buy another telecaster. This one is so good it is my last.

I wish they'd use this as the template for all the AM series. It by far my favorite neck, and I'd love to have a Strat with that same shape. Most AM series I've played don't have NEAR the comfort or tone of this one.....or vibe for that matter!!!
