My completed project....

Here it is..
Specs...
USCG swamp ash body, fatback USCG maple neck.
Reranch Les Paul gold finish.
Gotoh Kluson copy tuners
Duncan Jerry Donahue bridge and Vintage '54 neck pickups.
All other parts from Stewmac....
I did learn one thing.... there is no such thing as too much grain filler.... note the grain showing thru the finish on the pic of the back.....

It sounds great!!!

Sounds like it's supposed to. Better than my American Std.
The only thing is, since I've got the fatback on it is getting used to having all of that wood in my hands!!!

A great classic looking guitar! As they say, it is hard to fault the original design in the first place, and your guitar does implement that design with great style!! 8)

You are lucky, myself I have lots of plans and none of them finished (or even started, for the most...)

Geir :)

Gotta love another Goldtop telecaster...

I assembled some pieces a couple years ago, but I strayed a little further from the tele traditions than you did... but my Goldtop Flying Telecaster is probably the best guitar I own (and that's saying something)...

there's a good pic here: http://www.rocketsfavoriteband.com/rfb3_142.htm

No words are needed..

The guitar's inherent beauty speaks for itself.

Thanks for sharing.

That looks killer Chad!

What size nozzle did you use on your sprayer to shoot that finish? It looks so smooth!

Congrats buddy!

Reranch sells all of their stuff as aerosol cans. Trust me, the pics look better than it does in real life. I could have spent more time on the finish than I did. Being nitro, I can still go back to it and tidy it up a bit if I get up the nerve to do so...

Nice...

Looks good.....Man, you're right about the grain filler, though. Kind of makes you understand why they started using alder, huh?

The tuners, pickguard, saddles, bridge, neck and control plates came from stewmac. Everything looks good. The only thing i noticed was some bending of the bridge plate where the intonation screws go. Otherwise, it seems to be plated well and pretty solid. I used the Fender pots, switch, strap buttons and knobs that are standard on the 52ri. I might go ahead and put a 52ri bridge plate on there as well.

I also used the Stewmac cloth wire on it. It seemed to be pretty good as well.
