Somebody talk me in (or out) one of these 3!
So, due to a bank error in my favor, Next week, a Classic Series Tele should be on it's way over!
Now, I've got my mind set on a 60's in Candy Apple Red... BUT, recently I've taken a liking to the 72 Custom (Black and Maple, keef style) AND 72 Deluxe (Walnut and Maple). Anybody got one or two or all of these? I get about $650 to work with, so I wanna make the most of it.

a bank error in your favor? There's no such thing! They'll always get their money back!
But if I were gonna get one of those, I'd do one of two things: Get the 60s Classic. Or the 72 Custom....but on the 72, do what I did and stick a Jazzmaster pickup (I have a JM-V from Curtis Novak) in the neck position to replace the bland WRHB. I love mine in that configuration.

'60s Classic. Both the pickups and guitar get glowing reviews. WRHBs can be lackluster to some people's ears, and it'd be easier to find something in the way of a Deluxe or Custom used somewhere down the line. Most people that buy the Classic series tend not to part with them...

Does the bank know it made an error in your favour? If they don't and you spend their money, well, they don't like that.
This just seems odd to me. Before the 'error' you didn't have enough to buy a guitar but after the 'error' you've now got enough dough for a guitar? So they didn't simply replace money they had mistakenly taken from your account but somehow they just gave you a bunch of money and that's called an 'error in your favour'? Hmmmmmm. I can't make sense of this. I hope you know what you're doing.

I had an "error in my favor" with my checking account about 25 years ago in the amount of exactly $200. I went "inside" and actually talked to them, instead of relying on the "drive-thru". They were emphatic that there was no mistake on their end. I did this every week for close to a year, and the answer was always the same. Now, back then I was a "weekly wage-slave" and we KNEW how much went in every week and how much went out every week.
I finally spent the money, but not on guitar stuff. I took Lady Bender-Freak to Oklahoma to visit some of her relatives. I would wait a while if it were me before I spent this "error in my favor"....just sayin'...

If it really is a $650 "bank error", they will eventually find it and you will have to give them their money back. You might also want to turn things around and look at in another light. If the bank made $650 error in their own favor, would you expect them to give you the money back, even if you didn't notice it was missing?
Or let's say you are in a store and the clerk leaves $650 on the counter and goes away. You can take it and know they will never catch you. Would you? |

no, it's not an actual bank error. I just call it that, because I'm getting paid with a Classic Series Tele fo doing some acting for a TV Pilot, and if the bigwigs that are paying find out about it... they won't be happy. It's a long story, but "bank error" sounds cooler.
Yeah, I heard that the Classic Series WRHB's aren't up to par, so I think My heart's still set on the 60's

^^ What he said.
The 60s Classic is perfect right out of the box, right down to the pickups. Best of luck, CS
