should i paint and mod or age this squier tele custom

I scored this squier tele custom for $50 at a pawn shop. There are some scratches and some finish cracks. I was thinking of trying the rattlebomb all in one spray. Then again since it has the scratches i was thinking about aging and distressing it. Any thoughts?

If it were me, the first thing I would do, as I started to clean it up and think about it is, take off the remainig gloss with a 3M pad... You have to do that anyway. Then stop and think about it again.

Oh yeah... At least one pic.

The Affinity was a BSB that I bought for $85 and that included the Duncan L'il 59 bridge pickup. I didn't like the orange colored finish so I lightly sanded, primed with BIN shellac primer and then painted with Reranch surf green. Used almost the whole can on the body. The neck and body were then clear coated in lacquer. Hardware was aged by using 3m synthetic steel wool and 800 grit wet/dry. It gives it a nice brushed steel patina. I then drilled the control plate and added a on/on/on DTP mini switch for series/parallel/coil split and a new five way CTS switch.. The neck pickup was changed to a GFS Fatbody and a new pickguard added. Total dollars invested approximately $175.

The Custom was a similar deal. Bought for a $100. I had some nice old pickups in the parts bin. Painted in Reranch seafoam green and clearcoated the body and neck. Total invested $125....

Some people need to hold their tongues on this forum.

I play the accordion and I'm the guitar player for a Cajun/Zydeco band featuring the button accordion. We love them.

Les Pauls... meh.

But I also play the banjo, so, WATCH IT!

I love the accordion too. Wish I knew how to play it. Now soprano saxophones, feel free to shovel all of those you want into the next dumpster you see.
