This Is Just Plain OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!

I get the biggest charge in life when I see someone re~invent the wheel ...so to speak....ie: take a work~a~day product and create the "Dream" version of said product...

Thats exactly what Dale has done at Glendale guitars ...He took the problimatc three piece tele bridge and made it state of the art...not only does he angle the adjustment screws (like everyone else has started doing) he's taken it a step further to completion....Each saddle has a different angle !!!!! so the bridge has to be put on right (its clearly marked on the bottom of the bridge pieces) but the results are really stunning....

I'm able to play the dreaded "E"chord to "G" chord (as well as many others) all are in tune!!!!! The best part is they cost about $36 and IMHO they are worth twice as much!!!!!!!

This may just be what I need for my MIM Esquire.

Thanks for the tip, Mr Hullet, I'll inquire with Glendale about availability.

I received my set two weeks ago. The best saddles on the market I think.

which set?

Bill, I notice that he has a few different sets. The one he recommends is the Twang set, which has an aluminium saddle for te loe E and A. Did you get that, or the straight brass set? I notice he also has a Rockabilly set too. Who knew that choosing a set of saddles would get this complicated?? :D

    Me Too!!

I got some too! I got a set of each, and mixed two brass. and one alluminium on the E&A.

They work perfectly. Not only are they accurate. The alluminium seems to sound a little less midrangey which helps a bit on low strings.

    I love em' !!!!

    well actually.....

I got a set of brass ones and aluminium ones...I've put the brass ones on one tele and I will try the aluminium on another this weekend...I don't know that I'd be in to mix and match, ( only because I'm so set in my ways!! ) but I very was curious about the aluminium too....they intonate percectly with a strobe....I mean they are really dead on.....I'm very excited about em!!!!!

    Bill Hullett

PS hey Fuzzy....I think that Dale is using Billet aircraft Aluminium as opposed to just work a day stuff...its much stronger...the stuff they make hot rod wheels out of....

I'll have to add them to my wish list...

I love the idea of mixing and matching saddles!

I have the "twang" setup right now. The aluminum set on the E/A string really brightens the sound from those two strings, while keeping them bold. I was skeptical that there would be any difference between aluminum and brass, but there is a huge difference in tone.

I just installed a set of these on my guitar and really like the improvements. The Glendale saddles are very well made and the intonation is dead on! Also, Dale said that the bridge plates should be available in about 4 weeks.

Now this is cool. Lots of choices there.
I'm leaning toward trying the stainless for a '62 RI.
It has threaded steel now that seem to work well
with the deeper sounding Texas Special pickups.
So stainless looks like a go.

I have brass (not his) on 2 others already but......
may try some of the other Glendales later in place
    or.....or...... :?

    well actually.....

I forgot to mention that when I set the bridge up with the strobe , I would get it set for a given string and fully expecting to have to "cheat" a little when I checked the adjoining string.....In Each Case On All Three Saddles...The sister string was dead on perfect on the first pluck of the string....this is what floored me so bad....he has got these three angles DIALED IN!!!!!!! and then to sell them as reasonably as he does...well all I can say is THANK YOU DALE! and I hope he sells a million sets!!!!

    Thanks Bill

Just fired him a mail asking for shipping to Scotland. I'm going to try the Twang set, sounds like a perfect match for my perceived sound.

    I've got a brass set

...which I'm hoping to install today.

They look and feel extremely well made and I'm keen to try them on my Jimmy Bryant replica which has a Vintique bridge and the famous/infamous Vintique saddles. I've never been too happy with this set as the D/G seems to produce a real thing open G so I'm looking for an improvement in this area.

Scotland, mine arrived in less than 5-working days, so Dale can turn them around very quickly.

    :D Peter

    Put To The Test....

Well I used them last night , and really put them thru there paces in a real world senario...

Let Me qualify this first by saying, half my life has been spent really trying to get a tele in tune great and keeping the three way bridge on it...and not to brag but I felt like I was really really good at doing this because I never got grief here in town on sessions etc etc...

Last night , it was almost like I wasn't playing a tele....Every chord, every position, any wacky inversion , everything rang true as if I were playing the chords on a piano!!!! Because of the rich way that the chords ring, it feels like the guitar has more sustain. (its just the chords ringing clear as opposed to not) But I can easily say that its the biggest bang for buck investment I've EVER SEEN for a tele....(heck...its 1/2 as cheap as one normal aftermarket pickup)

By the way.....I put the aluminium saddles on an Esquire and played that one also....I had the same great set up experience and they do sound different than the brass..I Like em as well.....but to my ears I think they made this Esquire sound more P~90 like....Which was very cool...I want to play the aluminium ones a little more though before I go saying too much about them tone wise, cause I just didn't play them as much as I did the brass ones....

Dale is batting 1000 on these!!!!

    That's it then!

    I gotta get me some!

If they're good enough for you Bill, and Redd as well, then they are well in excess of what I need, but I do need all the help I can get! :)

i've had mine for over a month now and i think they're great. the machining is about the neatest i've ever seen. and i like the fact that the height screws are angled so they don't interfere w/ the bridge plate mounting screws, nobody else is doing that. the only minor thing i don't like is i like flat head height adjustment screws better than allen, oh well guess you can't have it all.

he didn't even over a twang set when i ordered  .
oh well he's a good guy, guess i get to give him some more money

i'm definitely getting more. i want stainless steel for B and Lil E for my bender. so i guess i want Aluminum, Brass and SS
