NGD squier vintage modified tele special

Man what a great guitar! I brought home my telephone today and I'm quite in love. I'm going to post a couple videos below and hopefully attempt a review soon.

Hey thanks a lot for posting those! I was doing this with a phone and tablet since the little gremlin you see running around behind me in the video decided to break my computer.

I've been on the fence on one of those for a while.

if the gift cards in my wallet were for the local stores that have them instead of GC, I would have jumped already. I played a whole bunch of other tele's at GC the other day - and think I prefer this model over all of them. the only one I didn't like was at a GC while on vacation - does GC make guitars play worse than the factory ?

was yours shipped, how was the out of the box setup?

except the paint, but what the heck.

Mine was shipped from a guitar center to my local GC. Out of the box it was great. They set it up but I didn't notice a change. I absolutely love this guitar. It has everything I want in a twangy tele. Great for blue and surf as well. The paint looks kinda cheap and the input Jack is cheap but it's still so great. Neck is wonderful

good vid - more helpful than the fender ones, and a good contrast from the cool german one. sounds good, you did a good run through.

sorry about the paint comment I compare it to the ash bigger buck tele's

mr horsepower and skating and tele's and kids - don't get much better.

what are you using for an amp? I tried it through the smallest cheapest SS at my local store and thought it sounded good, figured it can only go up from there. my comparing of the others at GC was through a blackface vibrolux ... too bad they didn't have one of these for back to back comparisons.

yes, the neck. I've been pondering the reality of I REALLY like the neck (more than much bigger buck teles), worst case scenario I could always swap for an ash body, if the pickups pale too much compared to the don mare set in my other tele I could swap them ... and then I'm thinking $300 for just the neck ..... which didn't make sense.

but I think you've convinced me. thanks. one more stop at the local shop for some quick and guilty time ....

Ha ha glad you like my representation sir. I was using my hot rod deluxe no pedals at all. I haven't decided if I want to upgrade hardware and pickups or leave as is for a twang fix. I really like the idea of new hardware and gfs 50s pup in bridge and upgrading the jazzmaster pup as well. Is it like dumping money into a Hyundai? I dunno...

I guess I should clarify. I'm not comparing the neck to a American $2000 tele I'm more saying this neck blows any mim neck and others in the $600 range out the water. When I'm playing it, I'm in no way thing $275 guitar.

I've compared it to most everything in the price range you mention - and a few that were quite a bit more. and I REALLY like the neck. in deference to those who have higher line teles, this is highly subjective and subject to preference, but I like these, which is why I haven't sprung for one of the others.

the plan is to just be happy with it as is - and have a great playing guitar I could spray bomb without guilt (also subjective).

ordered mine a few minutes ago, after skulking into the local shop and playing the two they have.

I went with white - I am a natural finish guitar guy, and if the BSB was translucent over ash, would have gone that way, but it's not. solid color.

but the white is translucent enough to see it's a three piece body, which is why I want to spray bomb it.

thing is, it not only plays really nice, but it sounds really nice (someone else there commented on that during my brief plug in time). again, just a hurried test, this time through a blues jr, at really low volume. I feel like a total jerk trying there and using the gift cards to buy elsewhere.

can't wait for it to show up and put it through my amps at volume; I don't expect a need or desire to upgrade the pickups - and I REALLY like the neck!

thanks for posting your thoughts and video - I think it's a great guitar too.
