Is it the Wiring or is it just the way an Esquire is?

I just converted my CV50 BSB to an Esquire. I kept the same pickup, but this thing is really awesome. I guess what I'm asking is......can it be just the RG Guitarworks pre-wired harness or is it just the fact that it's an Esquire that gives it all the OOOOMPH!! that it didn't have before. Am I crazy?

Because there is no neck pup magnets to pull on the strings they now vibrate more giving you more sustain and "ooomph" at the bridge pup. You are not crazy. it's physics.

The 1st grade controls & switches aren't hurting either but lots of guys report the same results without swapping out the wiring..

It's the magic. I'm informed by reliable sources that all Esquires have magic.

Yep. It's the magic. The Esquire vibe, oomph, thrill, mojo or whatever you call it is beyond explanation.

Although we try to describe the Esquire magic in terms of the absence of neck pickup magnetism, eliminating the tone pot from the circuit, the "vibe," etc., our attempts pale, and all we can really say is "Wow!"

Esquires are cool. Took me 6 years to figure that out. But when I got my 50's Classic Esquire in 2-Tone Sunburst, I joined the party.

Now I'm asking myself: "Does my Nocaster need a neck pickup?!"

Thanks,

When I get my second tele, unless it's already an esquire, I'll turn it into one. I'm really encouraged by the comments esquires get, by how easy the conversion seems to be, and my the fact I can easily switch it around if I don't like it. Thanks guys!

I'm thinking of building an esquire myself. I'd like to put in a SD. Any recommendations?
Thanks

It's the mojo. Any other explanation is pure speculation.

The Nash Esquire I just bought has a Jason Lollar and even though I'm a big SD fan this pup is awesome. Something to think about at least.

I second that. Tried a Nash once and was blown away. This being said, I put a Klein Broadcaster in my Esquire and it's absolutely awesome. Something to think about too...

Esquires and LP Juniors are the tone Kings in my humble opinion. Something magic about that single bridge pickup design, I think.

Great idea ! Klein also makes a tapped pup, I would love to try it. The Tri-State. http://www.kleinpickups.com/p-150-tr...er-bridge.aspx

Hhisi,
I have two Esquires, one is a converted '08 Blonde CV50,the other is a Pauwlonia parts-
caster. Both were modded by Rob DiStefano, both have his Cavalier Lion p/up,both are
terrific, and both have a large dose of "Esquire magic".Enjoy!

Regarding the magnetic pull of the neck pickup theory, If one were to cover the neck pup with something to lessen the pull, would the Esquire effect/vibe/whatever kick in?
