1959-60 Telecaster neck
I'm thinking about selling my 59-60 Telecaster neck. After I found out that it was a 59-60 neck, I didn't want to put it on another reproduction body, and I can't afford to get the original body, pickups etc. I would rather it go to someone who is trying to put together a Telecaster with period correct parts of the same years. My trouble is, I don't know where to start auction, private party, guitar store, pricing. Any suggestions?

The value of your vintage 1959/60 Telecaster neck is dependant upon the condition of the neck and all of its components (nut, truss rod, fingerboard, postion markers, frets, tuning keys, string tree, headstock decal). If everything is all original and the neck is in excellent shape, the retail value is about $3,500 to $4,000 for it in these current market conditions. If anything has been changed or repaired, the retail value will drop considerably.
Please keep in mind that a vintage guitar dealer will most likely offer you less money than the retail value of the neck because they need to cover their overhead costs for their store. Your best bet for getting the most money is to find a way to get it in the hands of the end user who needs that particular neck to make their vintage guitar complete. I hope that information was helpful. Good luck! |

Thank you Tommyboy, exactly what I was looking for. To petebrown, yes, the neck is slim from the 1st to about the 5th. Now, Is eBay the best bet for listing or is there some other form of listing? Anyone, I would really appreciate any suggestions . Thanks All

Hey man, spoke with you on the phone about the neck, your safest way to go with a transaction when you sell the neck is paypal. If someone whos not buying it locally refuses to do paypal and wants to do something like money order, check etc. I wouldnt. Im sure you'll find a worthy buyer. Its a great neck. Good luck
