I searched the forum and came up empty. I'd like to know if anyone has/had the TRO-62 neck on their Tele

I LOVE round lam necks (they were std an all rw board Fender from late 62 until 1980) since they are more stable and rigid than slab board necks.
Too bad the ALL PARTS are thin for my taste and have the ,horrible to me,vintage small frets. If you don't mind the small frets ,vintage radius and relative thin profile go for it! |

Or, you could look at it this way… Made by the same factory supplying Fender Japan necks, known for being superb…. they have gone out of their way to reproduce the vintage mojo, by using vintage sized frets, the classic C .84 thickness, and of course, a vintage feel is not possible without the remarkably comfortable 7.25 radius…. eminently playable with a good setup, as are all necks…
I find Allparts necks excellent and have no problems using them when requested. Ron Kirn

I LOVE the 7.25 radius. Still I HATE the vintage sized frets.... (My main guitar has a 7,25 radius & jumbo frets and is a dream to play) |

How do you guys know what frets this neck has? I don't see any info on the Allparts.com page regarding the size/style of frets for the TRO-62. Its quite strange because when you look at ALL Their Tele Necks the fret size info is indeed disclosed for each different model (except for the TRO-62).
Why do you HATE vintage style frets? |

Cause they are tiny, inhibit playability (especially if you bend a lot and use heavier strings) and don't SOUND as good as jumbo frets (I love the extra spank and "note solidity" jumbo frets give to a guitar, every vintage Fender guitar that I had refretted w/ taller/bigger wire sounded way livelier and played better than w/ the stock frets)
Of course this is MY opinion ,many people love them for their own reasons. Quote:
