Who's tried them? And what do you think of them?

I tried em' out last weekend for a Blues Gig, didn't even make it through soundcheck. Can't say I was impressed. Back to regular ol' Slinky's for me.

I've tried Ernie balls a few times but they didn't do anything for me. They snapped to easily. Thought I'd try these cobalts out to give them one more chance.

I have two packs here that I haven't tried yet. The guys at the music store all are crazy for them and they sure don't stay on the display rack for very long. We'll see.

I'd try em, but I'm forced to use Elixirs unless I want to change strings twice a week.

Very nice - been using them for a month or two now. Even went back to regular slinkys between to see if there is a difference. I do like the cobalts. I don't have to change strings as regularly. A nice sound, and can stay in tune and sound clear after some bending abuse...

Got a set of Cobalt Power Slinkys on my tele right now. Can't really tell any difference between them and regular ones.

I've been using Ernie Ball Hybrid, stainless steel strings. They last a long time and I can't tell the difference between them and the regular strings. I think I put cobalts on one of my guitars. Nothing earth shattering, but I wanted to change to the 9 hybrids and they didn't have them in the Cobalts at the store I was in.

They seem louder. More importantly, and annoyingly, they feel rougher to me. Don't like them too much.

I have tried them on several guitars and don't like them at all. They did nothing for me and I'm going to stick with Elixirs!

I like them.

I use them on some of my humbucker guitars--havent tried them on any single coil guitars yet and am in no rush to do so.

They seem to have better balance in tone and volume across the set on the 'bucker guitars, and have less tension. As Zephyr mentioned above, the wound strings are a bit rougher than most other strings but I recall some bass strings I used in the '70's having a similar low tension/slighly rougher windings feel, so I have adjusted to that.

I loaded my single coil guitars with fresh EB nickel wrap Slinkys just the week before I bought the Cobalts.

I picked some up before finishing my recent partscaster, like others have mentioned my acquaintances at the guitar store were pretty enthusiastic about them. I've played bass for about 13 years and was like, "Sure, whatever, not like they cost $30 like I'm used to!"

After about a week of playing I think they sound pretty great and feel just dandy. No issues really with toughness (playing 10's), though they do feel pretty zingy. They recommended Elixirs as well while I was there but I just cannot stand coated strings.

I started a thread in May about these strings. I still have then on my CV50 and I love them still.

I've had 10's on for a few weeks now and I like them but don't notice too much difference between the regular slinky's, except for the price......

Here's a comparison I did of Cobalts to D'Addario EXL110s.

Just strung up with them... They didn't require too much stretching, and are holding in tune pretty well.
They didn't feel any rougher than the normal skinny top heavy bottoms. The unwound strings felt a little slick for a bit, actually.
Extremely clear.
While I was tuning, I did hear that with no amp, they sounded almost like a nice set of Ernie Ball coated acoustic strings. That's what came to mind.
I can hear a slight difference in tone, but I haven't played at volumes obscene enough yet to tell just how much.
