NGD Nash Esquire

So I got this last weekend and just joined the forum today, but I guess a NGD post is still fair game. It is a '63 Esquire Custom, double bound. This one was special ordered with the lightest relic Bill would do pretty much. It is the only relic guitar I have ever owned. Didn't buy it to fool anyone, it was just a great playing, sounding and feeling guitar. Persoanally I'd rather it looked new, but I got it to play, not to look at...well I do look at it some. It is the first new guitar I've bought that I wasn't worried about dinging though so that's kinda cool.

I can't see any relicing at all on the neck. Like the colour. Something bout Esquires always looks cool.

If I could do a larger pic you might be able to see the very light relicing on the neck, but it is very light. That was one thing the shop specifically asked for. The Lollar just screams.

1. Esquires are awesome. 2. Love the color of this one. 3. Although I feel your embarrassment about fake relic guitars, I also tend to like my guitars when they are a little worn in. They feel good and you don't worry about them as much.

My esquire was made from a Highway one body and I'm loving the way its wearing naturally, but very quickly. In fact, all my guitars have dings and scratches and I like them that way--I don't have to worry about keeping them pristine.

One way or another it seams to always lead back to a fender. I guess all that matters is that you like it.

I've seen more Nash guitars with a Fender logo than any of the other clone-o-caster builders...and for a Nash, it's not beat to h#ll and back either. I don't get it (the fake Fender), not the relic presentation (I like that).

Yeah, lots of resellers do this. Bill does not apply the decals from Nash, it comes with a very small and easy to remove Nash logo for this very reason. As Bill states on his site, there are pro players out there that use these because they don't want their very expensive Fender's to be on the road any more, but still want folks to think it is a Fender for whatever reason. If the Fender logo wasn't on it when I purchased, I would have left the Nash logo on.

Love those Esquires , never played a Nash but I hear they are top of the line . Personally I think a nice slab rosewood board would make it look more 63ish . Looks like you have a keeper there , enjoy !! Z54

Beautiful. I'm not a fan of esquires or of most of the over-relic'd Nash guitars I've seen, but that is gorgeous and tastefull and I love the color and the clean, uncluttered lines.

What is name of that color, and is a metallic?

Totally agree about the rosewood. I just asked Bill about that the other day and he said it got the '63 designation due to the binding and 3 ply guard. It was special ordered by the shop with a maple board for some reason, but that is not period correct for sure.
