What makes you think they're not real FilterTrons? Fender often re-names stuff, even if the guts are identical.

I have no idea one way or the other, but the name (Fidelitron, which is idiotic) doesn't mean they're not real.

Still, pretty sweet that they're making a nice affordable version.
Would be easy to throw a set of TVs in there and still come out pretty reasonable on price

I think I would have to opt for the White Blonde in ash
Don't think they are re-cased GretschBuckers based upon the size, which appear to be the same as real Gretsch Filtertrons. Wouldn't surprise me if these are the same pu's as the "Megatrons" that come on the Gretsch Electromatic Corvette.

Fidelitron pickups, can't ind any specs online. They're lookers for sure
This link is for Fender in the United Kingdom, in searching Fender U.S, they don't seem to show up there. Someone mentioned seeing them in San Jose which is cool, at least there's some here in the US.
Just wanted to point that out to save anybody else some confusion in the US.

I searched the US Fender website and found this link here:

http://www.fender.com/products/searc...tno=0140072306

Been GAS'n for La Cabronita's for quite some time now. Really like all 3 of these, but if they only had the shoreline gold finish the choice would be too easy! My luck I'll end up picking up one of these and then in the next year or so they'll bring out the shoreline gold finish and I'll have to end up getting that one too
Geez, I think Fender might just have an ace up their sleeve with these!!!

Upon reading this, something told me the case(if not the guitar itself) should at least emit the delightful aroma of a pleasantly moist, unlit habano.

Street price of £500 for the white blonde here in the UK at GAK, but their website says to phone for delivery details.

i am talking (emailing)

the ebay seller about getting the black one 599 free shipping. He says it was 7.65 lbs. I asked if it had any acoustic liveliness, unplugged and he said not particulary. He was very helpful though.

Why can't Fender proof their specs?.....It has 22 frets.....Who knows what else is inaccurate? I do like the white one a little better.

This might be a case where you call a guitar store that has 3 or more in stock and try a bunch to get the one that feels good. Of course I am gassing and I haven't heard the gretschy pickups yet. I could change my mind if they sound sterile or like some magnatrons too hot/busy for me.

So near as dammit the same price point as the 50s Classic. On that basis it looks about right - 22 fret necks so they are not just stds with a new decal as they only come in 21 fret, so it's an entirely new model.
The only thing stopping me from buying one right away is the lack of tone control and not knowing how the pups sound.
But that white blonde may just tempt me enough...

This is the same Fender written copy for the American made cabronita tele... I know, I own one. Can't be for the FSR. Don't git yer hopes up.

As sexy as that white blonde is and considering the 15% off at MF (they have all 3 listed at the same price), I still can't pull the trigger. I'm just afraid of an ash anchor and lack of tone control is the deal breaker for me

out of stock at GAK (UK), new stock next week...I'd like to know how much the ash one weighs, whether it's resonant, how the pups sound. Price seems fair if alll those things are good.
