Wildwood 10 Tele's

I recently pulled the trigger and bought a CS Wildwood 10 1959 Strat. After three weeks I'm still in a daze as it is unbelievable. Anyone have the Tele version? I love Tele's too and may consider a Wildwood 10 1959 if I can get some feedback here. With the end of Brazilian rosewood on any Fender it would be phenomenal to have both!

I bought a Wildwood 10 '59 tele earlier this year after months of drooling. It has all the best specs IMO rolled into one - super light, nocaster neck, etc. I absolutely love it, I'm a gear head and have rolled thru a lot of guitars over the years but this one I'll never sell. It's the comfiest, prettiest tele I've owned. My go-to axe since I got it. A great guitar, no regrets!

Thanks javadog, the brazilian board on my Strat adds a new dimension to the word tone. I find the brazilian gives a deeper darker voice to my guitar. Do you have the same experience with your Tele? Yes I can see it now...a CS Wildwood 10 1959 Tele played through my blond Vibro-King.....daaaaum!!

Yeah it's tough to get a shrill sound out of the thing, definitely darker for a tele, though I never know how much to attribute to any one feature...the rosewood fretboard, fat neck, etc...I also went for the Seymour D. humbucker in the neck position and a Custom Shop Broadcaster bridge pickup - being a geek about pickups I figured I'd swap 'em but I actually really like the combo in this guitar, very balanced. Meaty tone. It just doesn't need anything. Wildwood is great to deal with too, nice website with awesome pics and full specs so you really know what your getting. The vid of Greg Koch playing my actual guitar didn't hurt either.

They just got all the details right on these. I wish I could afford a few more as backups :) as my heart stops every time I carelessly add a new non-factory ding to the factory relic finish...but I bought it to be played, how could you not.

Pardon my ignorance,I have never heard of Wildwood. I see from the link that it's a shop, does Fender custom shop make models specifically for this outlet? Or are they not actually Fender CS?

So they do still have more stocks of Brazilian rosewood! Funny how they keep finding it lying around.

Great looking FAT Telecaster.

I was told by Bruce at wildwoodguitars that Brazilian is no longer available in the U.S.A. Not even the master builders of any manufacturers can get it any more. The same is true for Madagascar rosewood. My Strat was made in 2008, so Wildwood has been providing lodgeing for it for a few years. lol. The few models of Strat's and Tele's you see on their website that have brazilian boards where most likley made before 2012. The Wildwood 10 Series guitars have certain specs that Wildwood requested such as 10 inch radius-hence Wildwood 10.
