My new 62' Custom.....

I've always wanted one and just had to go for it. I've owned quite a few MIJ and a newer American 62' Custom but just went full throttle and got a Masterbuilt.
Yes I sold quite a few guitars to get her but it just had to be mine. A Masterbuilt is expensive but this is my ultimate dream guitar. It's got the right sunburst and lacquer finish and feel. I'll be very interested to a/b it with a few MIJ and American reissues.
Well I'm happy anyway. :P

Other than the fingerboard being WAY underexposed*, that looks like a great guitar.

Enjoy.

*it is so dark it looks almost like rosewood. <g>

Beautiful guitar!

I hope you enjoy it!! I bet it's great having the exact guitar you want, built by the master craftsmen at Fender.

Very cool indeed....

Dude. First: your new '62Ri is sweet. Enjoy!

Second: The double bound esquire w/ maple board is sweet. I've been jonsing for a while for somethign similar but in Black. Ever since I saw one in person that Kevin built. I should have bought it off him right there and then. THats my next Tele for sure.

Oh yeah, that is really nice! I'd love to check one out
sometime.

I recently added a black CIJ '62 Custom to the herd and
had same thoughts of getting a large all maple neck. Might
be a this winter project but no sure yet.

Wait?
These have US Texas Specials, 7.25" R, pretty fully
"C" shape for a '60s style and alder body.
I haven't weighed it but was told "all weigh 7.78 lbs."
by the fellow at Ishibashi which probably is a average.
It seems a slight bit heavier than my MIJ '62 which is
7.2 Lbs. so probably not too far off. I don't have a very
accurate scale at home so may bring it to work and
check on an Ohaus that goes to 100ths of a pound.

Wait time for delivery was 4 days. I ordered on a
Saturday mid afternoon and it was delivered the
following Wednesday via Express and then USPS.
The service o/a was very good and thorough.

The masterbuilt is very light, Custom Shop 60's pickups,
7.25 radius, "C" shape neck and a vintage lacquer correct sunburst finish. Pretty much a true 60 Tele Custom. I may go with a parchment pickguard - I'm not too sure about that slight mint color.

tonfarbe you really do share my taste in guitars.
Those look great!
