Which Esquire look is best for a photoshoot?
I regularly swap pickguards on my Esquire as the mood takes me but I'm going to feature in a magazine article about living with an incurable illness. As playing guitar is part of my therapy, they want to take a few pics of me playing so my question is which will look best for the photo's (both colour and b&w)? I know it's a frivolous question and it probably doesn't matter one bit, but still....
White, Black or tortoiseshell? |

Of the three photos I like the white but it's not a true comparison since two were done inside and one has the ashtray cover in place. Small things but they do change how we see the colors and the contrast between elements. Picky but I'm a former pro photographer and graphic designer so those kinds of details make a difference to me.
My quick call would be the white guard.
