Aside from being a strellecaster, I would buy that in a heartbeat. That neck is very desirable.

Actually it doesn't look half bad. I thought it was a 72 custom or something for a second, but then realized it had a strat layout on a tele body

I have mixed feelings about it.

well actually.....

the ugliest thing might be the other two pieces of those bodys glued together ......that would make it a tele on the bottom and strat on the top with two pickups......Now That would be ugly....

Answer - No. There are many worse - in fact I quite like it so I'm having a bid on it. He's got a nice Ampeg amp for sale as well.

Actually.....

in the 2005 Fender "Frontline" Catalog, on page 7 , there's a pix of John Mayer with (what looks like) a Lake Placid Blue Tele body with forearm contour, with a Strat P/G & Pup/control set and a Vibrato bridge minus the arm, flame maple neck with a 21 fret RW board, & matching headstock....interesting combination......nothing about it looks "wrong" though it's the 1st i've seen.....

Ha! Yeah, thas a fair point Bill.

I just think it looks like someones either
    A) Placed a tele behind a strat and your just squinting (infact if took me several looks be sure myself what was actually going on!)
    B) Had a field-day on photoshop! I mean, it it literally a cut and shut guitar, with no attempt to try and hide the fact the woods are completely different colours!

However, my original statement was a touch over the top, but its to draw people in. I still think its pretty ugly tho...

Abe, when I read Stu's first post, the first thing that came to mind was an Antigua finish. I was wondering if whatever had shut STu's eyes could be as ugly as one of those gone-green Antiguas.

OF - if I win it it will be a new color - and yaller looks pretty good to me - after seeing all those Belgian pastels I fancy something a bit different!

I love it! The two toned wood, juxtaposition of body styling and 70's neck make for quite a Bauhausian coloration!

No ............... it's not the ugliest thing ever created. If fact, it's really not that bad. Especially when you see some of the other guitars that are out there.
