It obviously IS a crack, but after 100+ years it should be fairly stable.

The crack is part of it... it's a barnbuster... it's not a Versailles Buster..... they're spoze to have character.... some have more character(s) than a Warner Brother's cartoon too...

But for the "faint of heart.... any and all "character issues" are completely resolved... we don't wannem folding up like a cheep lawn chair....

I use a two stage solution to correct anything ... it's some kinda CA based goop.., gotta be... smells just like it.... and will glue your fingers together faster 'n ya can say, "Dammm I hate it when I do that.".. I've taken a hunk that I have done.... and jumped on it till it cracked.... that's cruel and unusual punishment for anything I'm jumping on...it DID crack... in a completely different and new location... so it's not going anywhere..

STOP!! Do not ask what it does to the tone...just don't... go back and look at the reviews of the "busters"... they say it all...

One of these days I'll do a build thread on the "buster".... and show ya what all goes into taking a 170 year old, in this case, hunk of wood no one would think about using, and making a world class instrument out of it....

So quit raggin' on the crack... at least it's real... unlike those relics y'all dingleberries seem to love...

Thx. I was waiting for you to jump in.

It is a world class instrument. Btw, the finish is out of this world. Never seen anything lie this before. It almost feel like there is nothing on the surface. You can feel the wood grain.

Hey Ron.

So everyone on TDPRI are "dingleberries" for enquiring about a honking great crack that runs from above the neckplate to the base of the body on a brand new custom-build ?

I always enjoy your wise & witty contributions to this forum, but that, sir, is not your finest moment.

Best,
Jeff.

That crack is just what I'd expect in 200+ year old barn wood. The barns around here are under 100 and the wood in them is just as stable until you quit fixing the roofs.

Great job, Ron, and I'll be ordering one as soon as I can afford it. Hopefully next spring.

Congrats, Fog! Looks like a winner!

I like the crack. Good opener for tele-talk, not to mention, it's a barn buster! I would really like to hear what that 'Bucker does, especially in combination with the neck pup. That would be a good candidate for an out of phase selection. Great looking Tele 'turtle and Ron.

As I mentioned earlier in this thread, really nice work. Work of art?,... yeah probably.

The oh-so-obvious "crack" on the back would not be my preference, if given one, but I'd still love to have that buster. RK's and some others' responses were almost to be expected if you keep up with any of those types of posts.

And this is from a RW50s owner/lover... relics are great. Large cracks, not so much... FWIW, I am still in the initial planning stages of hopefully being able to rationalize/set aside some $$ for an order of a barnbuster in the next year... this particular guitar/thread doesn't change that a bit. RK rocks.
