Neck profile: MIM Standard Tele v. CV Thinline
Recently got both a MIM Standard and a CV Thinline. Specs on both say Modern C shape neck, but the MIM feels thicker or pointier to me. I wrapped a piece of paper around each one and marked out the dimensions on each and they look more or less the same. Do they have the same neck? Is it just in my head?

The MIM is wider at the nut by just a tad.
If the thickness or depth at the nut is the same a thinner neck width wise will feel slimmer.

The neck can have a very different feel, just with different feel, different body, different body weight. I just measured and played my mim strat, mim tele and mim tele thinline. Measured exactly the same, but the tele feels the thickest. The big, chunky, heavy body sort of conveys the solid feel. The thinline actually feels next....I guess just the size of the body and maybe the glossy fretboard do this. The strat feels much thinner. <shrug> fooled me.
