NGD Tele custom P90's
First off I would like to introduce myself, my name is Tim. Hi all.
Anyways I never in my life even thought about owning a Telecaster. Everytime I saw one I always pictured either country guitar players or Bruce Springsteen which there is nothing wrong with either it's just not my deal. The other day Hello music was selling a thinline Tele and a friend I work with bought one. The guitar arrived Friday and after a little set up I pretty much spent all my free time at work playing her new guitar. I was impressed to say the least. When I first saw the guitar come out of the box and read the "made in china" sticker I immediately wrote the guitar off as a POS. Well like I said I played the thing for 3 straight hours. So I woke up Saturday morning and could not stop thinking about her Telecaster. I headed down to Guitar Center to see what they had to offer. I am an offset guitar lover I own 6 different offset's already. When I walked in I picked up the 50th anniversary Jaguar and surprisingly I was not that excited about it. So I moved on to the Tele section. I started with an American Tele and was really enjoying it. Then the sales guy brought me a 72 re issue custom with P90's in it. I played for a few and fell in love with the feel and the sound of this guitar. He threw in a used tweed case for $20 and it sealed the deal. I am now the proud owner of my 1st Telecaster and it was only the 3rd one I have ever played. I cannot believe it took me so long to realize how awesome these guitars are. I do not know much about Tele's in general but I am sure I will be learning a bunch in the next few weeks. So here is my new guitar! Sorry for the long read I am just really excited!

The rosewood was one of the bonuses to this guitar, I am not a big fan of Pine fret boards. I would like to find a white or creme pickguard though. If anyone knows were to get pickguards I would appreciate the info.

keep in mind that the P90's are not the same size as humbuckers.. |

Super looking guitar, I love the binding! I have a Gibson LP Special with P90s and really like it. I wouldn't be in too big of a hurry to change the PG. I have a Jazz Bass, that came with a white guard, and it looks a LOT better with the black guard on it. I had a Classic Player Thinline black with white guard, and had I kept it, I probably would have changed to black. Your guitar looks great as it is. The white ply really sets off the guitar.
