I knew you had them on, as I was typing

I like heavier strings on my acoustics, but I just can't get used to them on elec's.

My touch is light enough, usually - that I don't sharpen chords. Every now & then, I find my self choking the neck unintentionally. Reminds me to lighten up!!!

I like going 2 full tones on the high-E/B and I just cannot do that with 10's.

I might try some 1/4" rebar.

Until then, I'll stick with 9's on my Tele and 10's on my Les Paul.

Me and my daughter started on 10s on her Epi LP SP II, stock junk strings. Swapped to 9s when I did the nut and set up. I later changed them to 10s. She wants to stay with the 10s for now.

I got my AL-3110 with D'Addario 10s and I like them on there, but it's coming up on time to change them. I will probably stay with the 10s on this git, but I might try the 10-52s.

The SX Furrian came with junky 10s, swapped them for 11s the first day with a set up. I really like that setup on there. I think it'll stay with 11s for now.

I tried a nice CV Thinine recently. I say nice, only because I played it imagining it had 10s on it...

I'm just about to try out 9.5s to see if they beef up the tone from 9s,I like the bendability of 9s but they can sound a little thin at times. I have some 9.5 GHS Boomers and a set of 9.5 D'Addario's.

I flip back and forth between 9's and 10's. I play with a very light touch so going any higher is just too hard for me. A good friend of mine plays 12's and I just shake my head laughing at myself when I try to play his guitar. I have no idea how you all do it. Of course I'm a "dweedly, dweedly" type of guitar player (as my friend calls me). ;)

I alternate between 10s and 11s - anything lighter and I just can't get a good feel for the string. I need some resistance to play against...tone wise I don't think there is much of a change. Nothing a little knob turning can't fix anyway...

I use 11's on my scalloped neck Strat and they feel like 10's to me! On my American Standard Tele I have 9's for now and like how easy it is for fast legato phrases but on everything else 10's. There is a bit of that pride having guitars that not everyone can play. I love when my friends pick up my Strat with 11's and say, "it feels like you have piano wire on that thing!".

Hey Andy, did they give you a dozen sets of .09s when you got the 2011? I'm supposed to get 'em, if I got my claim filed in time. I'm planning on using 'em on the Strat, put .10s on the Tele, have .10s on the LP Special which thinks it's a Tele with a frog in it's throat! I have .13s on my Martin, it's all good.

The LP was kind of an accident, my brother-in-law had me to go with him to look at the LP Special, I wasn't even interested, but after playing it, he told me he couldn't swing it, but if I wanted to buy it, he was cool with it. Funny, he was talking up a deal with the sales guy, I went to the restroom when I came back the sales guy was writing the guitar up for by BnL, lol. We got it straightened out I took it home, and I'm VERY happy I did. I wasn't really looking to buy a Gibby right now, but they made me (or my bnl) a good deal, threw in a nice hs case too, so I've been having fun with them both.

It's a good problem to have two guitars you're all exited to play. I'm just a Fender guy through and through, but the Gibby is too much fun. The P90s are killer. It is pretty plain, it's pretty though this is the walnut one with the gloss finish, has a super neck, and the sales guy said it was pleked, I don't know if it is or isn't but I do know it came set up at 3 & 2, and didn't buzz, I raised it up a little just to make it easier to bend the strings, it's a very nice playing guitar.

Billy Gibbons plays with 6s and 7s. There's an interesting premiere guitar interview with his guitar tech about it. He goes with 7s when he wants "heavy" strings.

I think you qualify for the free strings, man. Did you get your axe at the Guitar Center?

Here's the rebate form, if so.

You know I used to think that Tele were born to have 9's on them and then........I learned how to bend, LOL. Now those 9's feel like I'm playing nothing at all. I push and nothing pushes back. 10-46's all the time now although I'm curious what a set of 11's might be like for finger style playing.
