NGD,,first tele

Ive been a strat guy for a long time and am a regular poster at strat talk. One of my strats was getting no love from me and it was time to sell and I've been jonesing for a tele. I picked up the 60th anniversary hot rod today. Im really liking it so far. The bucker in the bridge is awesome. I considered a regular 52 avri but really didn't like the bridge pup and prefer the 9.5 radius and bigger frets. The U neck is a dream as all my strat necks are FAT. Here is a pic. Im thinking of wiring it as a regular 52 hot rod as I've read the wiring on this is slightly different. Id love some honest opinions on this tele. Thanks all.

Honest opinion? It looks fabulous. I hope it plays half as good as it looks. No... I hope it plays a thousand time better!

Conga-rat's & enjoy.

Oh, and welcome

Thanks. Any links on wiring it up as a non 60th anniv hot rod 52? Ive wired up many strat pickguards so i dont think it will be an issue. Thx.

Looks really well. I've tried a few in shops, and they're a great guitar. Enjoy!

I played about 10 different teles from reissues to am standards to am deluxes and this one was by far the best feeling in my hand. A bit heavier than the others but i like that. Really like the mini bucker over the lipstick single coil.

Just need to figure out how to get standard hot rod wiring. Position 1 bridge, pos 2 bridge and neck, pos 3 neck only. Tone on all 3

Good choice. It's the one I'd have if I were having one.

I think you can use the first diagram in this thread to do what you want.

That's the modern wiring you are looking for, how is it wired now? Asking because I have a HR with modern wiring & never use the middle position. Does your have the dark neck circuit? AKA vintage wiring?
