[NGD] - 1986 '62 Reissue Custom Telecaster MIJ
First post here. I thought I would put up some pictures of the new guitar I picked up yesterday. It is my first telecaster.
A little background. I've been playing guitar on and off for about 15 years. I haven't played regularly for over 3 years. I would consider myself a beginner/intermediate. I know basic chords, some scales, and a few songs. Recently I've been wanting to get back into playing more and get better. I never really liked the Schecter C-1+ that I had and decided to start looking for a used telecaster or stratocaster. I used to have an older strat when I was in high school, but had never played a tele. This guitar came up for sale a my local guitar shop. After some research here and on a couple other guitar forums I decided to go for it. I thought the price was fair ($499) and they gave me a good offer on my trade. The tele is in good shape, some dings on the body, but I think that gives it some character. The previous owner changed out the stock bridge and tuners. Frets look good with minimal wear. Now I just need to start playing more! |

Thanks, I think I'm going to like it. It was funny when I brought it home last night, my wife looks at it and says "its got scratches and chips on it". I said yeah I know, its a 25 year old guitar, its ok. I don't think she'd understand relics.

Fair price even with the replaced stuff.
Fantastic guitars that I much prefer over the MIA's of the same period. Hows the neck ? MIJ necks are always finished extremely (extremely) well but every 62 RI one I've run across has been a little slim/narrow - especially near the nut. I probably would have gotten one if that weren't the case.
