Jack White's Tele

Jack White seems to have a Telecaster for his new album! A match made in heaven, clearly. Does anyone know anything about this Tele of his? Probably vintage, 'cause it's Jack White. It has a Bigsby, I'd love to build a copy...does anyone know what color it is? It's a kind of blue. Any thoughts on his Telecaster?

looks newer to me. I'm sure it's customixed some, but don't think it's vintage. Hard to tell with light, but it might be that blizzard pearl...

what i love about the movie above is the contrast between jack w. and the edge. the edge seems to be lost somehow in an endless sea of effect pedals and rack units.

then there's jack building this thing. jack wins.

It's all an instrument.

Is someone with an acoustic "winning", because JW needs an amp, which is really just a big damn distortion pedal and a speaker?

Nah. Guitar-->amp, or guitar-->effects-->amp, I don't care. Make a good sound and that's all that matters. And Edge makes some awfully good sounds.

The guitar does look brand new, but I think he meant that among White Stripes/Jack White Fans, it's widely known that Jack White loves vintage instruments, cars, clothing, etc.

I saw the guitar and thought it was pretty nice. The color looks very similar to a telecaster I had before that was Agave Blue, which is lighter than Lake Placid blue.

Here's a photo of the back of the Tele's headstock from Jack's website. It's not too clear in the photo, but blowing up the original you can see the bottom line says "Made in USA".

The guitar looks a lot like a daphne blue Fender Highway One Telecaster with an added Bigsby.

The Fender Highway Teles price wise were in the lower end of the US made teles (the model is discontinued)

I think I saw him play that guitar in the Harald Schmidt Show (german Late-night-TV-Show) and the bridge plate looked white if that makes sense for this artist.
I thought that would be a cool style ... ;-)

I had a different understanding after I watched that movie. I believe that they are both creative and great musicians but The Edge and JW's creativity come from two different places i.e. The Edge is just as creative with effects as Jack White is with the bare guitar and vice versa.

Who knows? Looks like a '70s custom shop model type. Was onstage during his SNL performance.
