NGD! Older pawn shop partscaster
I went in the pawn shop and this thing was staring back at me! All I can say about it is that I am out an sm57 and a few hours work now. The owner is a friend of mine and needs a little help in the evenings re arranging his store. Good trade I believe! I could not wait to get home and see exactly what this thing was. Warmoth body. Sperzel tuners. Van zandt pickups. I'm not sure about the bridge and the pickguard is bakelite. Now here comes the confusing part. The neck seems to be a legit fender but, it has this weird little medallion inlayed in the back of the headstock that says original fender neck? The date is June 20 1990.
I have heard before that fender made replacement necks in the '90s but I'm not sure about that. Any help on that would be greatly appreciated. It looks like it's only been put together once. I love it! It plays great and it's already been broken in for me! I don't have to worry about getting her a little dinged up. |

This is what dreams (of pawn shop stops) are made of. Nice.

I worked in a guitar store back in the late 80's and I remember seeing Fender replacement necks with that medallion. But if I remember correctly, I never saw a medallion neck with a decal. I could be wrong, I was weeding out brain cells pretty fast back then.

Those were fenders replacements necks that had for a while. They only said "Fender" and had the standard 52 reissue feel to them. they were pretty glossy and sometimes sticky for a bit.
...someone added "telecaster" to it because they were nocaster style necks. |
