Just bought an Allparts TRO Fat neck

Should I be happy...scared? What to expect...

It'll be going onto my newly aquired Highway 1 tele body.

Oh, and the neck has a rosewood fretboard.

Did I do good? 130 bucks.

That's a normal price. They are good necks. Before finishing it, try it on the body in case you need to made some adjustments. If it's a little wide, you can take it down with a sanding block.

they are indeed great necks... but.... 1, roll the edges.... 2, do a fret level, 3, sand it thoroughly with 320... and after you finish it, wet the rosewood with mineral oil and walk away, let it soak in.....

I just got my first AllParts neck ... had done what Ron suggested ('cept it was maple, and nitro-finished) ... played it for a week before deciding to save it for my next build.

You did good. IMHO. But I always caution ... I'm a moron.

+1 on that.

Been wanting a thick neck for some time now. Decided to do a quick search on Ebay and saw a few I liked. Just not happy with modern C shapes any more.

Not sure where this "modern-C" thing came from, but it's so un-Fender, I hope the fad fades, quickly. It just doesn't feel like a Fender to me with the twiggy neck going-on.

Nice. Good luck with it. I can't wait to try out a new tint process on the neck.

My favorite necks. You will probably need to remove just a bit of wood from the sides of the neck for it to fit the body after it has finish on it. I like to re-shape them a bit by flattening the shoulders some for a less clubby feel.
