Stands for Tele's?

What are you using to hold your Tele, when you're not playing it?

I saw one of these and thought it was a nice sturdy, compact stand. I'm not sure if the rubber will cause any issues with the finish on either my (soon to arrive) MIA 2-tone Std, or my 81 LP Custom.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I use one of these triple guitar stands by Hercules.
2 Teles and 1 Strat on it at the moment.

I use a MF stand similar to one that you had a link to. Whatever floats your boat really works.

Wall hanging won't work for me. I keep one of 'em in the family room, by the sofa.. so, I can grab & play. Eventually, I'll have a dedicated room for all my gear and I will design that to allow a "wall of guitars"

I thought that I remember reading somewhere (still looking for it) that some foam and/or rubber can damage the finish. That's my main concern. There are no kiddies around to knock it off the stand.

What type of finish is on the MIA 2-tone Std? Nitro? Poly? My LP is lacquer.

The Am. Std has a poly finish, won't matter the stand. I have a nitro bodied HW1 and the On Stage Stands are fine.

Did you get the new Am. Std with the contour?

No - they asked if I wanted a 2012 or a 2011. I did not want the contoured body, nor the different style pups - so, I ordered the 2011.

Depends... Rosewood or maple fingerboard? Some stands hold rosewood better, some do a better job with maple. I can't really detect the difference myself, but some swear by the wall hangers for rosewood, floor stands for maple. Also, consider if the top is solid or plywood, you want the right mechanism for the job.

I'll post some pictures later, showing the differences in stand performance relative to different fingerboard woods.

Make my own out of copper tubing or use string swings to hang them on the wall.

Just bought a Hercules hanging stand. I got tired of the arms of the other stands grabbing the cord and strap on stage.

$39.00 after a 20% discount coupon.

Personally, I can't stand stands. Take up too much room, and forget kiddies... I trip over them

I just keep one electric and one acoustic hanging in my small living room (an amp is at the opposite wall by the TV, if I want to plug in). The rest are in cases, except for one other Tele hanging by the end of my bed.

String Swings are safe for nitro, if that's what yours is.

Very nice & tasteful... I will see if that may secure the all important WAF. I gotta bad feeling, but your room looks great with them hanging there. It's all I can do to keep 'em next to the sofa (with the amp).

But, it's OK for all her keyboard **** to fill up the living room, right? Never mind that there's a baby grand in there, we need a rack full of kb's and 2 monitor stands.

Don't get me started <sigh>

Ahhh, WTF.. I just ordered 2 of these from Amazon. I saw them in the store for $30, but got 2 for this price at Amazon. Wore case, they suck and go in the "gear I bought that will never be used" box in the basement.

I think, based on some things that I read, I'll cover them with socks, just to be safe.
