Thanks for the advice folks.
I decided I had to have a Tele.
Looked at two MIM Teles from craigslist; found construction issues with both so I passed. Started reading the forums here and got the impression the CV series we worth a look. Went to my local GC and bought this one. Materials may be an issue but the construction quality of this Chinese guitar is as good as I have seen on any Tele of any price. Thanks for all the threads and input, I'm very happy.

I was bored at work on the graveyard and took to the pick guard with a dremel.
I have a black PG on order but she is growing on me.

I love a sunburst Tele w binding, never considered looking at CVs though, great idea. The 62 reissues ain't cheap. Whats the neck like? Congrats and enjoy.

The neck is very nice. I can get the action down to about 3/64" at the 12th fret with zero bussing using 10's. Not very chunky either.
