Crook Custom arrives...

Back around October I started talking to Tommy as USACG about a set of wood. Well...next thing I knew, it had grown into two sets. Both would match a certain '67 Tele I am fond of, except one would have a rosewood board. I had Tommy send the rosewood neck set to me and the other set to Bill Crook. I finished my Sea Foam Green double-bound wonder about a month ago. Bill finished his up last week and I just opened the box today. They both feel like my '67. The SFG has a set of Bill Lawrence 280/290 pups and it just honks. I have played it at several jobs and I just love it.

The Crook has a Fralin in the bridge and an Adder at the neck, a Callahan bridge, compensated saddles, maple board neck, and about the neatest finish I have ever seen on a guitar. More on the sound later...my "real" amp is locked up in some equipment trailer right now. It does however, play like butter.

It has been a real delight working with Tommy and Bill on these.

Just a few more...

Some closeups of Bill's over-the-top paisley graphics...

I got a few hours in on it last night. Definitely not an ice-pick - if you know what I mean.
