Where can I get a motor for an old drill press?

Reading these posts about routing and Teles makes me want to get my grandad's old drill press working. It's a Craftsman, but it's really old. The motor mounts on a plate on the outside, so I'm thinking I could have some flexibility with size, maybe even a Chevy small block. Takes a belt up on top that would probably be easy to find. But I don't know where to get the motor. Any thoughts?

Craftsman? Take it to Sears and get a new one....

Otherwise, get the frame size and hp off of the motor plate and go to Grainger or McMaster-Carr and order.

Sears is going to rip you a new one with the price of a replacement.

Try HarborFreight.com they have quite a variety of motors. their prices are reasonable too.

I was sorta kidding. According to Sear's commercials, all you have to do is take it in, and they'll give you a new one.... Or maybe that applies only to hammers....
