Buying a new one...
Today I visited some shops in search for my 'dream Teleish guitar'. I spend hours comparing MIAs and MIMs until I almost went crazy. What a jungle...
Suddenly, this one caught my eyes, a Yamaha Pacifica Mike Stern: http://img219.echo.cx/img219/8664/ymikes0eq.jpg It looked great, and, plugged in, it sounded great. The neck feels 'Fender', perfect fretwork, two Seymour Duncan pups, nice weight. Since I was looking for a somewhat 'fatter' sound, this axe did the job. Normally it costs €1200, since it was a showroom model I got it for €850. What a perfect day today... Has anyone experience with this guitar? Marc |

Congratulations! It looks very nice and if you're happy, so are we. I have very little experience with Yamaha, but I do know that their top-of-the-line stuff is awesome in terms of craftsmanship. Please post back with a review after you truly test it for a few weeks.
I see you're in Belgium… I use to travel there a couple times a year and I can't wait for my next trip, probably in June. Last time (October, 2004) I met with another TDPRIer in Antwerp (Jef) and we had a couple of those wonderful beers you guys make. We couldn't play guitar because I was too busy working. I truly need some of your stuff to get rid of the bad taste of the yellow tainted water we get here… There's a place here that sells Stella so I think I'll stop by this afternoon so get me some…

There was one at a local shop in my area. I didn't love it, but it may have been that one guitar. I would have liked to have tried a few of them and bought the best of the bunch.
In the end, I just built my own 'Mike Stern' model. It's my favorite guitar.
