Where can I get wooden pickguards?
Think I saw someone offering pickguards cut from wood. But don't seem to have saved the link. Anyone know a source for such guards? Spesifically mahogany. I'd like one to match my new mahogany neck:
TIA, Geir :)

Re: Here's a couple of my favs..
Thanks Blueblood.
I'll contact these and see what they say. It does depend on price of course. Geir :)

My body is ash (or rather ash/polar/ash), the neck is cocobola on mahogany, and I thought matching the pickguard to the headstock would be cool. Don't really want another kind of wood, that'll be too much. Geir :)

Re: Here's a couple of my favs..
As you said, "It does depend on price of course."
There is one more dealer that I know of .. http://home.attbi.com/~pickguards/You may want to shoot them an email for more info.. but it seems there isn't a whole lot of folks doing these. If it were me, Id probably do it myself. There are some veneers that have a 3M peel & stick feature so if you're real good or don't ever plan to remove the pickguard, you're good to go. I'd personally buy a clear pickguard and use it as a template over veneer. Unfortunately you may have to purchase a 4x8 sheet which runs about $1.35 and up per square foot. I'm certain that with more research locally or on the net you may find a smaller piece. For instance- http://www.wood-veneers.com/ Again, the only problem in your case is $$$ Good luck!!

Expensive
At the prices these people charge, I might as well have my luthier cut one for me. I'll see if I can possibly make one myself, as you suggest.
Thanks, Geir :)
