Would you pay $1000 for a NEW 52AVRI?

Even if your wife knew about it, would you pay $1000 for a new BSB 52 AVRI?

Depends, can I spare the $1,000? If yes, then YES, go get it.

Sadly, they're not $1000 all day long. I tend to live in the past and wonder why MIM Standards no longer cost $275 and 52RIs no longer cost $850, but this is 15+ years after those prices and $1000 for a 52RI (if you've played it and know it's a good one) is a great deal, based on current prices.

Heck yeah! Although it wouldn't be as cool as my 15 year old beat-up reissue.

Is this a hypothetical or do you have a line on one?

With today's prices that's like stealing it! What a bargain! I believe it was like 11 or 12 years ago they retailed for near $1000. Since that time the price has gotten higher. It may seem like a lot of money right now, and it is, but if you wait someone else will snag it. A used one in similar condition will come along but you may not have the funds at that time or play as nice or whatever. My thoughts are if you can swing it financially and have long been looking for a 52, you should bring her home. If not, you may eventually get one, for more $$, and pine for the one that got away. If it's a local deal I'd try it out and see if it speaks to you.

if you don't go for it you could always help a brother out and turn someone here onto the find. *hint hint*

Yes, 10 years ago you could (and I did) get one new for 1K.

Not now.

Jump on it.

ANYONE looking for a '52 reissue would pony up a grand for a NEW one, and not think too much about it. I might buy another for that price myself, and I sure as heck don't need it. I would think you must not know much about current prices if you have to ask.

I would certainly pay $1K for a new 52AVRI, that's a no-brainer. Let me know where it is, I'll buy it right now!!!
