That's very cool! But what I'd REALLY like to see is...

...a TRUE green paisley, where the PAINT is green, like the pink ones - this is more like a black burst to my eye, (though I still quite dig it).

Try this fantasy on for size:

-a nice rich Kelly green paint around the sides of an ultra-light light Swamp Ash body

-green/gold/cream accented paisley pattern

-gold hardware

-a nicely figured flame or birdseye maple neck

-white pearloid pickguard

-Celtic patterned binding (yup....a Celtic Custom!)

Hooboy, now THAT lights my fire! :P

(Alas, this dream would probably set me back quite a bit if the Fender Custom Shop got involved...)

Scotty, you may not have to dream much longer. Check the pic in the link, picture the hardware you envisioned, and you might have a dream on your hands. This pic is courtsy Bill Crook at Crook Guitars- hope he doesn't mind. I've got one of his tangerine paisley masterpieces- what an artist and what a guy! Big thanks to Bill from me!!!

Sorry, but Yahoo doesn't let anyone post the pics on a BB like this, thus the link. Hope it works- I haven't had much luck with these recently. :?

Looks great!

Tubby -
Always wondered who made Brad Paisley's paisley Teles....now I know! :)

That's pretty close....what I'm thinking of is more along the lines of a cream/white background with metallic gold, silver, and an occasional hint of green here and there for the paisley design's outlines - think it would look great offsetting a rich green paint tone.

Wonder if he could do that, or has access to such paper? What makes me wonder is that I see the paisley figuring is the same from color to color for his designs.

Any idea if he's printing the design up himself, or getting it from a supplier like Fender did (I understand that what they originally got for the pink and blue flower ones was in fact wallpaper, of which Fender Japan sourced and apparently bought the remaining supply of the original stock)?

Cool link!
