If Reggie had done nothing but play on those Dobie Gray sessions, he would still be great.

Thanks for the info and Happy Birthday to a legend.

wow, bobby wood, bobby emmons, gene chrisman, chips moman and reggie young in one room... did they play together? was mike leech there? one of the greatest studio units of all time... (RIP tommy cogbill...) on top of that pretty much the muscle shoals band as the house band! even without roger hawkins as gene chrisman did some muscle shoals sessions too... if you told me dan penn came out and sang it would be too much;) happy birthday reggie! tj

between chips moman, spooner oldham and donnie fritts they could have played some of the greatest songs of all time with their original authors and many featuring reggie... tj

Sounds like a wonderful night! Reggie Young is sch an amazing musician. If all he ever did was just the solo on "That's The Way Love Goes", that'd be enough alone to make him one of the all-time greats! But of course he did so much more

Great to read this. My first intro to Reggie was credits on back of Wilson Pickett LPs
then a bit later on Herbie Mann's "Memphis Underground".
