Fender Cabronita Tele...

Just visited the Fender site and saw this...I am more into 'traditional' tells, but i have to say this thing is gorgeous. Well out of my price range of anything I could ever afford, but it sure is nice to look at!

Build one from Warmoth, more color options and cheaper..

I'd build one with just a volume knob..

Question for all with this experience...
What is difference Fender Fidelitron Humbucking Pickup and TV Jones Filtertron Bridge Pickup Pickups?
Besides price?

The TV Jones Classic pickups are widely recognized quality pickups that are made in the USA and seem to receive unanimous praise from all who have played through them.

The Fidelitrons are more of a mystery. Rumored to be rebadged Gretsch Filtertrons or Megatrons. I'm also very intrigued by the MIM Cabronita and these pickups.

Where did you find it for $519? I'm seeing $699 everywhere.

MAP on the black and the sunburst is $599, the blonde is $699. About 75% of the places I've seen are selling at these prices. A few places, like Musiciansfriend still have the incorrect list and MAP prices. I bought mine from a little store (authorized Fender dealer) in San Diego, still sealed in the box with gigbag and shipped all the way across the country for $519. Can't remember the name offhand but I can dig out my receipt. They had it listed at MAP and I just offered them less and they took it. I know I was buying a pig in a poke, but I got lucky and got an awesome, medium weight Tele at what I consider to be a great price. In fact, I'm absolutely in love with the meaty, jangly-clear sound of this thing and a huge fan of the Filtertron sound in general.

Thanks for the info. I'll keep my eyes open for a deal. Going to be patient for once :-)

Someone give me a brief history lesson ...

When were these Cabronita style guitars designed?
Are they exclusively a Fender design?
What are they about?

TIA.
