I am thinking of buying one today. If I get it I'll review it.

Of course a good modding tele if anything:)

I hope this turns out well for you.

That said there are a few things that bother me.

The company calls it self : " Manufacturer and IMPORTER of guitars". What is getting imported and what of those are getting the Welch name?

It does look like they make some tele`s, but the Gibsons look suspect to me. Plus, there are only a few in process shots of guitars being made, and only of bodies in different stages of finishing. One of which looked kind of awful. The blue one with the description "Ash body T-style with standard bridge pickup routing and
P-90 in The neck position. It should cover it all." That thing is lumpy as heck. Like rattle can lumpy.

Here's an "official dealer" on ebay. Prices are interesting.

Japanese owned and operated company producing in China is what I got.

The facebook webpage doesn't give any detailed specs...

They look Classic Vibe quality (from the pictures) Would be a great modding guitar if anything...

I'm probably going to get one at some point to make into an Esquire. I actually like the headstock compared to the other low-price copies.

The LPs look pretty sweet too, although I think I could get a used Epiphone P90 LP for the same price. I wonder how quality would compare

I just received my Welch Tele Twang Slinger - silver with black "binding" like Buck Owens and Don Rich. I'll review in-depth and post pictures but overall, meh! Overpriced Squire with a fancy paintjob, fake binding and terrible attention to detail. Has some positives but not many.

Sucky doing business with

And thats not all they are! It is really impossible to get a straight answer out of the owner. I was at some point going to be his dealer even started selling for him short term. Wines a lot about not having any dealers but when A dealer like me sells for him he does not acknowledge or care will not pay commission. Workmanship is suspect (never got my demo guitar) made in Korea even offered to send me a free guitar as a demo still waiting on that one. In short run forest BUYER BE WARE is the least warning can give..............

Hi guys, thanks for the input on these, I was considering a Welch Tele because I got one of their Jazz bass copies (VJ-60) on eBay and I really like the bass. I only paid $129 for it because it was "C" stock (had a cracked nut), which cost me all of $25 to fix at my local independent guitar repair shop. I'll just go with my original plan, which was to replace my Squier Classic Vibe 50s Tele in Butterscotch (w/ the Alnico 5s). I had to sell it to pay bills in an emergency, but Guitar Center raped me. I loved that guitar, though, and to me, it felt better than most of the MIM Telecasters I have played. After I replaced the bridge with a Graph-Tech after-market setup, it was sweet.
