Lookie here - Fender American Custom Telecaster...mmmmm...

52RI body, maple neck w/ larger radius, medium-jumbo frets,

Only missing the vintage bridge to be nearly perfect.

I am completely in love with that. Also heartbroken that the description says, "This guitar is no longer available."

A 52 RI body with Nocaster pups (and yes, I agree, a vintage bridge) with a modern AmSe neck & frets... [drooling sounds]. It's my dream.

Dang.....

I'm gonna have to learn to read more carefully.

That's probably why there's not more replies on this thread...

Oh well, it looked very cool ( I like the larger frets and the larger radius)

ciao

Sounds like you're a candidate for a Highway 1 Tele. All it'd need is the Avn pickups.

Awesome!

I combination of old and new is what I too really want. A modern flat non-stick med-jumbo neck on a '52 reissue, butterscotch or two tone sunburst, and we'd be set... :) And this one even had nocaster pups... :D No wonder they sold them ages ago...

This guitar is no longer available

Was this guitar ever available? Check the part number they list "017 0007 850". That's not a valid number for a US made Fender guitar. You would expect a part number that begins with "010", "011" (American Vintage and some CS) or "015" (CS). Also check out the logo on the headstock:

"Custom Telecaster" why would Fender use that logo on a non Custom RI?

Anyway if there are 100 of these floating around out there somewhere wouldn't have already come up around here.

According to The Guitar Stop.....

which, btw, is a great place to do business! They always answer every question quickly....

The Guitar Stop received ONE of these guitars on Monday June 2, and sold it yesterday, June 5. Jeanne said it's the real deal. She didn't really know anything about the model numbers....

The one being discussed in this thread has a '52 RI body combined with CS Nocaster pickups, American Standard hardward and an American Standard Neck.

The guitar you are describing sounds like a "90's Tele Custom" which was a short-lived MIJ model. They came in white and black. Here's a photo of a black one:

I sent an email re: this guitar to a friend at Fender

My friend Gina D., who works for Fender in Corona, had this to say when I asked her if this guitar was for real:

"yep..it's real. We just did a special run of them.

Now..go buy one so we can make more ;-)"

So, there you have it from FMI......

I still say, mmmmmmmm

You can trust what Jeannie says about the guitar.
