Chandler Nashville Tele ??? ..........Pics.

I just got home with my latest acquisition. It's a Chandler Telecaster style guitar. I don't know the model number or name. The headstock just says "Chandler San Francisco". They don't make it anymore. The Fender legal team probably got after them. All pickups are Seymour Duncan. The bridge and neck are Hot Rails. The middle is some other SD. The entire guitar including the back of the neck is finished in clear orange. The bound fingerboard appears to be ebony. It has a push-pull tone pot that splits the Hot Rails. Kluson style tuners. A few bumps and scratches but I'm a happy camper.

Here are a few pics. The actual color is more orange and not as red as these pictures.

Man, that is sweet! I love the color, binding and the 3 pick-ups. Though never owning one, I've heard the Chandler made some great guitars. What did that set you back? I'd jump on that in aheart beat. You don't see one of those everyday! Great find. Oh, how does she sound?

Wow! That sure is a beauty. Congrats!!

Chandler does make some fine guitars. Their tele and strat clones are right up there with the best you'll find. A local shop has an older Chandler strat and I always dig playing it when I stop in. Been there for three or so years and no ones bought it yet. Can't understand why as it's a great playing and sounding guitar with a very comfortable neck.

Chandler stuff rocks. I use their pickups in my favorite Tele and Strat.

Sarge .................

She plays and sounds great. Lots of tone variations. The action is set low and I haven't heard any buzzing. What did it set me back? ..................... I think I got a heck of a deal ............... $432..........with SKB hard case. I'm going to try to take some pictures that show the true color. It's really stunning. I'm thinking of getting a cream colored pickguard to match the cream binding. I've always liked that orange ASAT Classic with cream guard on the G&L website.

I have one.

I've got a double bound black Chandler that has a wide fat neck that is the guitar I've had the longest. A friend of mine worked there for a while, and I think he put it together from factory seconds, as there was a finish flaw in one spot around the binding. Anyhow, very good guitars if you can find them. I last saw an esquire type Chandler for sale recently that was mint for $250, but it pretty much was the same as the one I've got now, which by the way is loaded with a Duncan Broadcaster/ mini HB combo.

I Have a Chandler Too

Mine's a Thinline hollowbody Telepathic. It's TV yellow, rosewood board, big frets. It has a pair of SD Lil 59's which split for humbucker / single coil by using the push pull feature on the tone & volume knobs. Add to this, a Hipshot B-bender that was also on it and it is definitely a rare bird. Funny, I had it over a buddy's last nite for a jam and appreciated what a great guitar it is. Yours is a gem and sounds like a good deal. They are sleepers for sure, but have a really cool vibe about them. Wish I'd come across that $250 Esquire that was mentioned, I'd have snapped it up too.

Have fun with it.

Chandler's seem real nice. I was sniped out of a double bound Esquire type Chandler on eBay about a month or so ago. Someone got that one for around $400!

Chandler tele

I also have a Chandler tele-bodied guitar that is one of my current favorites. Picked up the Chandler body in 1987-88, a beautiful sunburst spruce topped, chambered alder body, added a Warmoth compound radius 22 fret neck, all black hardware, Duncan Pre-BS bridge and an early 70's strat PU in the neck position. The pickups are out of phase, so the middle position quacks in a very unique way. The top, with it's straight grained spruce and orange to yellow burst was so attractive, I never bothered putting a pick guard on it. It's such a nice weight and has such a unique tone, I find myself playing it more and more. Is Chandler still making guitar parts? I hope so. great stuff!
