50's style partscaster built with 4.0 lb Warmoth one piece body, and Musikraft Boat V maple neck. Custom Shop Nocaster pickups. Reranch Black Nitro on the body, and Tru-Oil on the neck.

My CV50's wants to be an Esquire, too. Just gotta get some capacitors, and such. Funny how that happens. Did you go the classic Esquire wiring, or did you do something different?

heres the one Im working on...probably gonna go with a flat black guard, the one pictured is from my 52RI. Or maybe a mint green 1ply, or possibly a tort guard
Its getting a rosewood neck, and a raw nickel covered Humbucker in the neck. The bridge PUP will be from my 52RI.

Used the classic Esquire wiring after yanking out the neck pickup. Pretty easy to do. I did it because the MIM neck pickup died and I didn't want to replace it, so Esquire seemed a natural. Now it's an Esq that says Telecaster on the headstock :)

I love those mid-'90s Squiers from Korea. I have two of them, and they both have wide, flat, chunky necks that are really nice for fingerstyle blues. That one you posted looks like a beauty. The only upgrade you didn't mention is tuners. The tuners on those are the cheapest imaginable, and I don't like the bridge pickups either. The neck pickup on the one I got in original condition is good for the type of music I play, and I didn't see any need to change the pickguard, saddles, knobs or wiring. |
