This something I threw together with bits and pieces. It's had a few different looks but I think I like this one the best so far.

One of these. ![]() The body is from a Squire Custom with the P90's. I made the little guard that the front pickup mounts in. It took a bit of work to get a shape I liked.

Whoa! there are some Beauties in this this thread!

Took a quick snap - hope this assists. It's basically just a case of being a little ruthless with a grinder and a drill ;) Stock, the Bigsby B5 has a 'forward' placed mounting screw lug (the 'F' branded Fender licenced bersion does not) This means that the stock B5 cannot be mounted in a 'butted right up close to the end of the bridge lip' fashion, So, (after some consideration over the non-reversability of the actions upon the B5) I dremelled some notches on the back of the bridge lip, then ground off the 'forward facing screw lug, and then drilled a new screw mounting hole through the centre of the 'spring well' instead. I could then get the B5 right up close, and a decent break over the saddles. Still not an enormous break angle, but it definitely is quite some improvement. No doubts there! It's twangy, but plenty low end, and (FWIW) it sustains really nicely too. I also have 11's on that 'Esquire' which helps, and also suits it well. (Glad I took the snap - as I just noticed that one of the pickup adjuster screws is doing something mighty odd) =========== OK DF.. well you did ask ! .. |

Telepath, it isn't exactly what I was expecting but I still got a laugh from it. I think it's a good looking decal too
I like how you worked the bigsby/bridge. It can be hard to make them look that good. Just don't ask me how I know

Here's my Black (modded) Squier Tele...
- Pickup is a SD P-Rail SHPR-2b - Wired it to a 4 way switch to give single coil rail, P-90, both parallel, both series - Added a tone switch to the control plate (.033 ufd orange drop cap) - Replaced the pickguard with a black esquire from GFS The new, hotter SD P-Rail is fantastic sounding and the way it is wired gives 4 distinct sounds. I am very happy with the black mod. |

I'd say it's fairly chunky. It's certainly not a thin neck but it's not a Nocaster or a G.E Smith neck. Whenever I pick it up if I haven't played it for a while I'm always a bit surprised and delighted at it's heft. I like it.
