I scored a nice one yesterday!

At Guitar Center of all places. A friend of mine works there and they took in a mid 70's tele custom. My friend immediately calls me and tells me I can get it for $400!

They had VERY LITTLE into it. Some guy was trading it in on a new Epiphone Les Paul. He owned the guitar since 1981 and was the 2nd owner.

I go to look at it thinking it must be a reissue or something...to my surprise its NOT.

It has been played alot in the thirty or so years its been around and its had some modifications...

It has a brass nut installed

The original 4 control setup has been rewired to a single master volume/master tone setup with the original 3-way switch setup.

It has a custom made pickguard made to refect the changes made to the controls

It has a bridge that looks like it came off a Tele elite or something...its a top loader not using the string through.

Original bridge and neck pup's.

Grover tuners installed.

The thing sounds fantastic!!! and looks freaking amazing with lots of MOJO.

The finish has aged to yellowed perfection...

I'm gonna replace the bridge with a vintage type tele bridge and run the strings back through the body (though its fine the way it is)

I actually like the single Volume/Tone setup.

And the bottom line is that I planned on Paying the $400 bucks for it..........

$360.00 out the door with a Brand New Deluxe SKB case!!!

I can't complain about my local guitar center as they have hooked me up really well. A couple of months ago I bought a USED '99 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe 30th anniversay in MINT condition for $900.00 out the door!

:( :( :(

Some people get all the good deals.

Lol, congrats man! :D

At that price I'd be tempted at a resale for profit.

I gigged one like that for about five years, in Mary Kay off white.

I miss it!

Fantastic score- you done excellent! The wear on the fretboard looks great- is the back of the neck worn just as much?
